Usually you like at least 15 to 20 knots of wind when you're making a passage because you can sail, which is a much nicer ride and you save fuel, we'll we had light breezes and flat, flat seas as we crossed the Tehuantepec and we were ecstatic! Sure beats the 50+ winds you can have there. We left Huatulco Saturday morning around 10:00 a.m. and arrived to the anchorage outside Bahia del Sol, El Salvador on Tuesday around 11:30 a.m. We got in line behind SV Lost Elvis, SV Equinox, and SV Inspiration and set the hook to wait for our turn to “CROSS THE BAR.” Alan was not nervous but Mac….that was another 
story. We were the last boat to cross and in one way it was great because we got to see how each boat before us went through and had the routine down pretty well by the time it was our turn. On the other hand, those of us who were already nervous had 4 times as long to stew about it (this doesn’t even count the 6 months prior to the event some of us thought about it!). Well due to Alan’s great steering ability, the great guides on our pilot panga boat, and Effie being a great boat we made it through with no mishaps (Mac didn’t even scream once!). Once we got over the bar it was a smooth ride into the marina......what a beautiful place! We're very glad to be here and are very pleased with the accommodations.
