Maine

On the way to Bar Harbor we stopped for a couple nights in Farmington, Maine at the Troll Valley Campground. Then on to Mt. Desert Narrows Camping Resort in Bar Harbor, Maine.
Lobster, Lobster, Lobster….needless to say we had lots of lobster. Yum, Yum…..and some other great fish dishes.

One of the first nights we headed to the harbor to Beals, recommended for their lobster and lobster rolls. Beals was right next to the Coastguard, which made Alan, previous “Coastguarder”, happy. We ate outside and had a fabulous view of the sunset, great way to start our time in Maine.

Campground was right near the water…..

Maine is home to Acadia National Park which is right along the ocean. We enjoyed several drives and stops through the park catching a sunset at the light house.

Inside the park is Jordon Pond which has a 3 mile hike around the pond. Since my foot seems to be much, much better we tackled the hike with Jake and Kallie.

Part of the walk was on planks laying side by side;

Part of the walk was over huge rocks;

And part of the walk was over bridges and flat, nice trails.

The pond was also home to a pair of loons;

We also took a boat ride out to see some of the light houses. There were lots of beautiful homes along the way and we even got a sneak peek at Martha Stewarts' home.
