Illinois, Appalachian Mountains, Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia
We decided to drive through these states on our way to Washington DC just to get a feel for that part of the country. All beautiful states……will have them on our “Re-visit” list in the future. We stopped two nights on our way through.
Driving through curvy and small back roads to get to a RV Park in the Appalachian Mtns was a trip. I told Alan, “If we pull up and there’s someone on the porch with a banjo, we’re leaving!” The owners were really nice people and the RV spot was very quiet, rustic, and relaxing. They had been foster parents to several kids and were having a reunion with everyone playing music the next night. They invited us to stay but sadly due to reservations had to move on. The next night we stayed at a KOA in Virginia then it was on to Washington DC.
